FUNDRAISERS
SCRAPMETAL DRIVE
Many thanks to all those who helped with the recent scrap metal drive. It was highly successful and we plan to run another later in the year, so watch this space. If you have any junk made of metal lying around the house, SAVE IT UP!
ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS
Thanks to Susan and Co for this recent fundraiser which earnt the club several hundred dollars.
BIKEATHON MONDAY 15TH FEBRUARY 2010 ROUNDUP
We had 44 riders attend our February Bikeathon at the Rewi Street track.
In the space of 1 hr and 40 mins (it was a hot night) some furious peddling resulted in 2 riders acheiving a total of 50 Laps with another 6 riders reaching a total in the 40's. Quite an amazing effort!
Apart form the excellent stamina and endurance training, the main point of the evening was to raise funds to put towards the construction of our new track on Park Road.
We can proudly report that 23 children between them raised a total of $1,520. That is an amazing effort!
A huge basket of chocolates went to our star performer MASON JAMES who raised $310.50. Our next best gatherer (and most consistent performer) was REBECCA PETCH with $105. BRAD and MARK SEAGER was our third place getters with $100.
Also raising up to $100 for the club were Connor and Alyssa Spicer, Clay Cody Cooper and Cannon Merito,Courtney Brunton, Xavier James Jobe, Andrew Clark, Cameron Petch, Ben Vincent, Cameron Spencer, Lewis and Ruby Mellsop,
Joshua Smith, Jacob Hobbs, Dylan Gunn, Chester and Finlay Ebbett
This money was used to dig out the foundations of the new track at Park Road so thankyou all so much for your contribution.
We would also like to thank the sponsors who gave prizes on the night. They included:

THE NEW TRACK IS TAKING SHAPE
For those of you who have not driven past the Park Road Sports ground at Marist Rugby Club, i suggest you do soon as the landscape is changing by the day.
With the help of many generous local businesses, and a fortuitously timed "Building Boom" in Te Awamutu, we have the beginnings of our new track taking shape. You can see the berms and start ramp as well as the outline of our new 370 m track.
Fundraising and funding applications are ongoing so that we can keep the momentum going.
We are under no illusions that much of the hard work is to come and we would welcome any club members with skills or contacts that they think may help us to come forward and talk to one of the track committee members (Barry Petch, Bruce Clarke, Mike Smith, Rob James, Shane Chapman, Mark Vincent, Martyn Ebbett).
Thankyou to the following who have helped with work to date:
- Richard Johnson of JDC Contracting
- Wayne Korkie T & C Earthworks
- Rural Contractors Ltd
- Waikato Bobcat and Digger Services Ltd
- Watson Davies
- Andrew Fraser Dungarvon Farms
- FB Hall & Co Ltd Drainage
- Waipa District Council
